CORDELE — Funeral services for Josephine Shores Hines of Cordele will be at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, April 10, 2016 at Cordele First United Methodist Church, with the committal service following in Sunnyside Cemetery.  The family will receive friends Saturday afternoon from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. at Rainey Family Funeral Services.
Josephine, 92, passed away Wednesday, April 6, 2016 at Piedmont Hospital in Atlanta.  She was preceded in death by her husbands Wallace P. Buran, Sr.; McDaniel Hopkins; and John Pepper Hines.  She was born in Cairo, Grady County, Georgia and was the daughter of the late Arthur Manuel and Bessie Lee Hammett Shores.  Josephine was the epitome of southern grace and charm.  She lived in Cordele for over 50 years and volunteered her time to enrich the town she so loved.  Josephine embraced life, cherished her friends, and loved her family.  It was always a delight to be in her company.
Josephine was an active member of the Cordele Fine Arts Club.  She was a member of Cordele First United Methodist Church and was actively involved in all its activities, including the Wesley Sunday School Class and the Methodist WSCS.  Josephine is survived by her children, Wally and Betty Buran, Johnny and Margaret Hines, and Laney and John Capron, all of Atlanta; a sister, Mary Kathleen Shores of Atlanta; eleven grandchildren, Daniel Buran and his wife, Meghan, Tyler Buran, Hamilton Pepper Hines and his wife, Nathalie, Elizabeth Allison Hines, Charles Capron, Michael Capron, Valerie Hopkins, Suzanne Hopkins and Melanie Hopkins; and four great grandchildren, Carly Kammer, Sophie Kammer, Isabel Kammer and Cami Hines.
