Police apprehend man with gun

CORDELE — Officers with the Cordele Police Department apprehended a man with a gun on Friday night.
According to reports, officers responded to Sunset Homes, located on 24th Avenue West in Cordele.
After searching the area police located an arrested Maurice Sanders a block away as he was attempting to break into a residence. It appeared that Sanders was under the influence at the time and law enforcement contacted the Georgia Crisis Center. Sanders was evaluated and transported to Crisp Regional Hospital for further testing. No one was shot or injured during the incident.
