CORDELE – Funeral Services for Opal Perry Smith, 76 will be held at 5:00 p.m. Thursday, April 28, 2016 in the chapel of Hughes & Wright Funeral Home. The family will receive friends or can be contacted at Opal’s home. Opal passed away at her residence Monday, April 25, 2016.

Opal was a native of Cordele and the daughter to the late Thomas Russell Perry and the late Ida Elizabeth Wade Perry. She was preceded in death by her husband Bobby Renay Smith; brother: Earl Perry and a great- grandchild Marlee Renay Johnson. She attended Northern Heights Baptist Church and Wenona Baptist Church.

Opal was survived by her son: David Smith and his wife Lisa; daughters: Marie Faulk and her husband Wayne and Leisa Christian and her husband Rhyne all of Cordele, Ga.; grandchildren: Laura Johnson and her husband Scott, Amber Ward and her husband Zach, Cody Smith, Shiloh Smith and Perry Faulk; great-grandson Obie Johnson and our lifetime family member Ruby Walker.
