AMERICUS — Bessie Irene Terry, age 99  of 2001 South Lee Street, Americus formerly of Pitts  passed away Sunday April 24, 2016 in the Magnolia Manor Nursing Center. Funeral services were held  at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday April 26, 2016 in the Pine City Baptist Church in Pitts. Rev. Doug Bridges   officiated.  Visitation was held in the church one hour prior to the service. Interment was in the family plot in the Pine City Cemetery.
Mrs. Terry was born April 7, 1917 in Pitts, Ga. She was widow of the late Odis L. Terry.  She was daughter of the late John Lewis Gregory and Hurtha Musslewhite Gregory.  She was a homemaker and member of the Pine City Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by a son Lamar Terry in 2000.
Survivors include  – son – Franklin Terry of Pitts, half-sister – Joann Bridges of Eatonton. Grandchildren, Tracy Terry, Sonia Harnage and Kathy Hall. 9 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild.
Pallbearers were: Tracy Terry, Mark Harnage, Richard Terry, James Terry, Johnny Coleman and Les Morris.
Music was provided by Alice Powell and Madison Terry.
Frazier and Son Funeral Home in Rochelle was in charge of arrangements.
