Pickers in the Park set for Saturday

CORDELE — The Crisp County Lions Club invites the public to enjoy a day filled with fun, food, entertainment, and activities for all ages as they host the 3rd Annual Pickers in the Park Yard Sale and Crafts Fair. The event will begin at 8 a.m. at Crisp Regional Hospital Park located at the corner 3rd Street North and 2nd Avenue East.
Numerous vendors have signed up for the event and will be bringing with them a variety of items including, food, clothing and arts and crafts. There is sure to be something for “PICKERS” of all ages. Patrons can take a break while shopping and enjoy live entertainment on the Bix Tex Trailer stage beginning at 9 a.m. featuring Goodbread and Company, John Penney, The Empire Dance and Performing Arts Studio and more.
Cordele native and well-known author Johnnie W. Lewis will have a book signing booth where she will be selling some of her written works. Lewis is the author and self-taught illustrator of “The Five Finger Paragraph” series of books and Learning Aids, “The Writing Police” series. She is also the author of the ”Flutterbye, the Butterfly books” series which feature an entire Science/Nature unit in each book. Lewis writes in many fields such as; humor, romance, education, editing, plays, poetry, and technical writing.
WOW Inflatables will be there with bouncy houses and activities for the kiddies. New this year for the car enthusiasts will be a Custom Classic Car Show.
The Crisp County Lions will also be making their famous funnel cakes and selling cotton candy, drinks, mops and brooms, and t-shirts.
