CORDELE — The 67th Annual Watermelon Days Festival is just around the corner and before the merriment commences the first order of business is to crown the queens who will preside over the events for the festival and throughout the coming year.
Sign up is underway for the 28th Annual Watermelon Capital Pageant, which will be held at 7 p.m. on Saturday, June 4 at the Crisp County Middle School Auditorium.
The pageant is open to girls and young ladies ages 2-21 and is divided into five categories; Tiny Miss Melon (ages 2-3), Little Miss Melon (ages 4-6), Young Miss Melon (ages 7-11), Jr. Miss Melon (ages 12-16) and Watermelon Capital Queen (ages 17-21).
