CORDELE — Funeral services for Ruth Marie Allen of Cordele will be held at 4:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 11, 2016 in the chapel of Rainey Family Funeral Services with the committal service following in Sunnyside Cemetery.  The family will receive friends prior to the service Wednesday beginning at 3:00 p.m. Ruth, 89,  passed away Sunday, May 8, 2016 at Cordele Health and Rehab. A native of Cordele, she was the daughter of the late Samuel E. and Mary Kathryn Wright Roberts.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Allen. Ruth was a homemaker and retired from First State Bank of Cordele and an active member of Cordele First Baptist Church. She is survived by her children, a daughter and her husband, Cathy  and Kenneth Thompson of Pinehurst and a son and his wife, Jeff and Beverley Allen of Daphne, AL; four grandchildren and their spouses, Tammy and Johnny Morgan, Kevin Thompson, Kelly and Earl McCabe and  Matthew and Ashley Allen; and nine great-grandchildren, Patrick Morgan, Payton Morgan, Pierce Morgan, Katie Thompson, Kristina Thompson, Eli McCabe, Ethan McCabe, Karly McCabe and Isabella Allen; and a sister-in-law, Edna Posey Banks.
