CORDELE — Funeral services for Matthew Reese Fountain of Cordele will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, May 26, 2016 in the chapel of Rainey Family Funeral services.
The interment will follow in Cedar Creek Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Matthew, 34, passed away Tuesday, May 24, 2016. He was born in Crisp County and was the son of Martha Brown Raburn and William J. Fountain. He was a welder with T&M Contractors.  Matthew was an avid Georgia Bulldog fan, hunter and fisherman and especially enjoyed bow hunting. He loved the guitar and getting together with his friends to play music.
Matthew is survived by his daughter, Elizabeth “Budda Bear” Fountain of Commerce; his parents, mother and step-father, Martha and Allen Raburn of Cordele and William J. Fountain of Warner Robins; four siblings, Jared and Morgan Fountain, Amanda and Brandon Dean and Deborah and Jose Diaz, all of Cordele and Candice and Dustin Ivey of Dublin; maternal grandmother and her husband, Irene and Jerry Bringman of Cordele and paternal grandmother, Laurine Wharton of Chester; aunts and uncles, Sonya and Tommy Baker, Mark and Ramona Brown, Paul and Becky Brown, Theresa Brown, Ruth and Richard Stewart and Penny and Billy Weeks; and four nephews and three nieces. He was preceded in death by grandfathers, Rev. Gerald Brown and W.J. Fountain and an aunt, Renee Todd.
