Cynthia Wynelle “Nell” Spires Watson

POOLER – Cynthia Wynelle “Nell” Spires Watson, 75, of Pooler passed away at home today, May 27, 2016, surrounded by her family.

Wynelle started her journey through life in Crisp County, Georgia on April 29, 1941. She was the third child of the late Thomas Jackson and Lithia Bryd Spires.  At the age of 14, she joined Bay Spring Baptist Church and was baptized along with her brother James on July 15, 1955.  She attended Arabi Elementary School and graduated from Crisp County High School.  She moved with her family to Pooler in 1977 and became a member of the First Baptist Church of Pooler, and a member of the Ladies Sunday School Class.  She was a paraprofessional at Pooler Elementary School, retiring after 26 years of service.

Today the Lord sent His angel down to take her to her new home and to continue her journey.

Wynelle is survived by her husband of 54 plus years, Clyde Watson; three sons and their wives, Vincent and Cheryl Watson of Brunswick, Trevon and Erin Watson of Guyton, Kevon Shane and Ellen Watson of Tucker; three grandchildren, Luke Watson and Jenna Watson of Brunswick and Ellie Watson of Guyton; one brother, Rev. James Sprires of Cordele; two sisters and their husbands, June Spires and Arlyn Robitzsch of Cordele, Cheryl Spires and Dale Newton of Arabi; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Visitation:  6-8 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home.

Funeral:  1 p.m. on Tuesday in the chapel of the funeral home with burial to follow at Hillcrest Abbey West Cemetery.
