Chubbs named Top Dog

CORDELE — Some of the city’s four-legged and furry citizens turned up to strut their stuff at the annual Crisp County 4-H Dog Show.

Taking the Grand Champion prize of the event was Chubbs. She was accompanied by her human companion, Jobie Jobe. Chubbs also took first place for Best Costume and second place for Best Trick and second place for Most Obedient.

Earning second place in Best Costume was Elizabeth Williams and her dog “Theodore” and third place in best costume was Gracie Morgan and her dog “Pete.”

Mia Purvis with her pet “Bella” snagged first place in the Best Trick category. First place in the Most Obedient category was Loralye Woods and her dog “Penny.”

Other participants included Marisa Taylor and “Sugar,” Ally Bodrey and “Cornellius” and Skylar Brevard and “Chicka.”

Each contestant is awarded a special prize based on what the judges feel like are their best tributes.

Gracie Morgan and “Pete” — Most 4-H spirit.

Skylar Brevard and “Chicka” —Miss Patriotic.

Loralye Woods and “Penny” — Looks like owner/Twinzies.

Ally Bodrey and “Cornelius” — Most Playful.

Mia Purvis and “Bella” — Best Groomed.

Jobie Jobe and “Chubbs” — Just Chillin

Marisa Taylor and “Sugah” Cutest.
