Crisp Lions Club sponsors Cornhole Tournament

CORDELE — The Crisp County Lions Club sponsored the 2nd Annual Cornhole Tournament at Turner Park on Saturday, June 18. Registration began at 8:30 a.m. and the first bags flew at 9 a.m. Friday night’s storm resulted in lower temperatures Saturday morning, which the club and teams enjoyed.

Teams of two squared off to compete in either the youth or adult division of the tournament. The adult division was double elimination.

First place winners in the adult division for the second year were Kevin Teel and Kyle Davis. Second place in the adult division was the team of Donte Lofton and Stephen Guined.

Taking first place in the youth division was the team of Caden Lofton and Shelton Dickerson and coming in second was brother/sister duo Ryan and Riley Reed. Crisp County Lions Club President Gary Cross said the club has enjoyed putting on the event and being part of the Watermelon Days Festivities and are hoping to see the event grow even more in the years to come.
