LITTLETON, NH. — Louise Wilson Rogers, age 100, of Littleton, NH passed peacefully into Heaven to meet her Lord and Savior on Sunday, July 3, 2016 while a resident of Grafton County Nursing Home.  Louise was born in Militia District 1012, Dooly County, Georgia, on May 31, 1916, the daughter of Paschal P. and Bessie E. (Herring) Wilson.  She was Valedictorian of her high school class and then worked at the County Court House.  In 1944, she enlisted in the US Women’s Army Corps (WAC) as a stenographer and typist for the duration of WWII.  While in the service, she met her husband, William E. Rogers, Jr., and they married March 30, 1947 in Arlington, VA.  Their daughter Billye was born while they were stationed in Atlanta, GA.  They transferred regularly until posting at Fort Dix, NJ and settled in Mount Holly, NJ to work Civil Service for the Army and Air Force.  They retired after many years of service and moved to Littleton, NH in 1981, a town they fell in love with while visiting on a ski trip in the 1960’s.

In their later years, Louise and Rog were rarely seen apart and stayed active in church activities at Faith Bible Church in Littleton, played golf regularly, traveled to Georgia for family visits during the winter months, and maintained their home on Mt. Eustis.  They were devoted parents and grandparents, known as Mom-Mom and Granddad, and loved by all who knew them.  Louise never lost her southern accent which served as a conversation piece when meeting people on their many travels throughout the North Country in their Buick.  Rog often asked Louise if she wanted to drive and with her feisty Scottish wit retorted, “There’s never room between you and that steering wheel.”

Louise was predeceased by her husband Rog after nearly 50 years of happy marriage.  He passed in 1995 while on the return trip from “down home”.  She was also predeceased by her parents, her sisters Mary and Nellie, and her brother Holt, all of Georgia.

Louise is survived by her daughter Billye J. (Rogers) Rayno of Littleton, her grandson William L. and Brystol Rayno of Enfield, NH, granddaughter Roberta J. Rayno of Manchester, NH, granddaughter Hannah J. (Rayno) and Elijah King of Watertown, NY, granddaughter Merri J. Rayno of Marlborough, NH, great-grandsons Isaac and Jacob Rayno, and great-granddaughters Emma and Abigail King.  She is also survived by many cousins, nieces, nephews, and extended family in Central Georgia.
