LAGRANGE — Funeral services for Maurice Jones Reese, 100, of Lagrange will be Thursday, July 14, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Rainey Family Funeral Services.

Burial will follow in Sunnyside Cemetery.  The family will receive friends prior to the service Thursday beginning at 9:30 a.m. at the funeral home.

Maurice, a long-time resident of Cordele, passed away Saturday, July 9, 2016 at West Georgia Hospice in Lagrange.  She was preceded in death by her husband, J.R. Reese and two grandchildren, Susan Oliver and Sim Oliver. Maurice was born in Sylvester, Worth County and was the daughter of the late Charles Sidney, Sr. and Margaret Raiford Jones. She was a homemaker and a member of Cordele First United Methodist Church and the Fellowship Sunday School Class.

As long as her health permitted she was active in the Cordele Woman’s Club, the Cordele Garden Club and the Women’s Society of Christian Service.

She is survived by her children, a daughter, Martha Jo Oliver of Lagrange and a son, Dick Reese of Monticello; two sisters, Carol Hobby of Griffin and Rosa Margaret Mitchell of Denver CO; four grandchildren and their spouses, Spencer Reese and Bridgett Oliver, Beth and Keith Carter, Britt and Ben Thomason and Blair and Matt Ginn and a granddaughter-in-law, Carrie Oliver; and 13 great-grandchildren, Spen Oliver, Gwen Oliver, Ginn Oliver, Lily Carter, Sam Carter, Charlie Carter, Elise Carter, Levi Oliver, Reese Thomason, Katie Rae Thomason, Colter Ginn, Reid Ginn and Elijah Ginn.
