UNADILLA — John O. Sparrow, age 66, of 1911 Ransom Road, Unadilla, died Thursday, July 21, 2016, at his residence.

Born in Vienna, he was the son of Boots Sparrow and the late J. W. Sparrow. He was a member of Smyrna Independent Methodist Church and was a mechanic. John was a Master Mason and a member of Millwood Masonic Lodge # 198.

He is survived by his son, Johnny Sparrow of Cumming; his daughter, Mandy Sparrow of Blairsville; his mother, Boots Sparrow of Pinehurst; his sister, Mary Alice Sparrow of LaGrange; his brothers, William Sparrow (Faye) of Pinehurst and Mark Sparrow (Wanda) of Clarkesville; his granddaughter, Emma Sparrow of Cumming.

Funeral services were held at 11 AM Saturday, July 23 in the chapel of Brannen-NeSmith Funeral Home.  Rev. Roy Gibbs and Rev. Tim Price officiated and interment was in Harmony-Smyrna Cemetery.

Sydney Hughes provided music for the service and played one instrumental, “His Eye Is On The Sparrow. 

Bo Dolph, Andy Sparrow, Larry Dunaway, Charles Meaders, David Dunaway and Howard Cross served as pallbearers.
