Folks my week has been full. One might say I am drained physically and mentally. First off Angie, myself and a host of folks from Crisp County made the long trek to Parris Island S.C. to watch my son Matt graduate from boot camp (as the honor graduate). Now my friends let me say that if you have never been to a Marine Graduation, you might want to put that in your bucket list. It is very hard to impress upon you all the lump in your throat moments you will see while there. Let’s just say it was awesome and I am tired.

Then I returned to Cordele to play in the 3rd annual Bobby’s backyard wiffle ball tournament. It was 100 degrees in Cordele on Saturday and humid as all get out and my team Walls Well Drilling came in 4th place. It was great fun for a good cause and the best team won and so did the kids who are fed as a result of the money raised.

Now here it is Monday morning August the 8th and football gets started this week!!!

The Cougars will host Veterans on Friday the 12th at 7:30pm in their pre season game. Crisp Academy travels to Sparta, Ga. to play John Hancock. Also the Cougars have several reserve seats available for the regular season for $50.00 a seat contact the school and go ahead and get these seats now. This year our football teams in this area should give us a lot of excitement. The kids have put in a lot of hard work and dedication attending summer workouts getting ready for the fall football season and they deserve our attendance at games, so go! I might ad also that the softball teams, cheerleading squads and bands have done a lot of sweating this summer getting ready for the fall. I just can hardly waitjoejoe 4
