Kermit R. Coker

OMEGA — Kermit R. Coker, age 40 of Omega, formerly of Pitts, passed away Wednesday, August 10, 2016 on in Turner County.  Graveside funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, August 13th in the family plot in the Union Cemetery in Pitts.  Visitation will be after the service in the cemetery.  Reverend Larry Wilbanks and Pastor Steve Clifton will officiate.

Kermit was born on April 6, 1976 in Cordele, Ga.  He was a Communication Officer with the Dooly County Sheriff’s Office.  He was a member of Penia Baptist Church.  He was a graduate of Wilcox County High School Class of 1994 and was a former member of the Pitts Fire/Rescue and a part-time Employee of the Georgia Forestry Commission, Tift County Office.

Survivors include:  parents-Randy and Kay Coker of Pitts, brother-Shawn Coker and Wife, Rebecca of Pitts, niece-Ryleigh Coker of Pitts and special friend-Teressa Massey of Omega and her daughter, Kimberly Massey of Rochelle.

Dooly County Sheriff’s Department and other law enforcement agencies will serve as honorary pallbearers.Flowers will be accepted or make donations to:  Georgia Sheriff’s Youth Home, Inc., P. O. Box 1000, Stockbridge, Ga. 30281.
