CORDELE — Funeral services for Dorothy Marion “Peggy” Kimbrell of Cordele will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, August 19, 2016 in the chapel of Rainey Family Funeral Services. 

The family will receive friends prior to the service Friday beginning at 10:00 a.m. Mrs. Kimbrell, 91, passed away Sunday, August 14, 2016 at her residence.  She was born in Quitman and was the daughter of the late Robert Berner and Ruby Lee Williams Kimble. She was a homemaker and a member of the Vidalia First United Methodist Church but worshiped with her family at Cordele First Baptist Church. 

She is survived by her children and their spouses, Mike and Barbara Harvey of Florida, Melissa and John Gordon of Cordele, Wade and Julie Kimbrell of Centerville, VA and Lyle and Elizabeth Kimbrell of Arlington, VA; nine grandchildren, Angie Kiminas, Allison Harvey, Paul Harvey, Kim Miller, Misty Kitchens, Will Kimbrell, Owen Kimbrell, Jack Kimbrell and Claire Kimbrell; and ten great-grandchildren, Jett Kiminas, Samantha Harvey, Jacob Lichtenstrahl, Phillip Lichtenstrahl, Benjamin Lichtenstrahl, Aiden Harvey, Gavin Harvey, Andrew Miller, Kate Kitchens and Karen Kitchens.

She was preceded in death by her husband and a son, Gene Kimbrell, Sr. and Gene Kimbrell, Jr., a brother, Kinch Kimble and sisters, Leonore Dalton, Mary Frances Knight, Betty Jane Copeland, Juanita Simmons and Polly Ives.
