Wildcats come up short

When the Wildcats visited Nathaniel Greene they needed running shoes because Nat Greene ran all night 264 yards rushing to be exact to the Wildcats 19 yards. Overall the stats were close in the game as the Wildcats had 470 yards of offense to Nat Greene’s 449 yards of offense. On the scoreboard though Nathaniel Greene had 54 and Crisp Academy had 44. Crisp Academy also missed several PAT opportunities.  In the end that didn’t help the boys cause on the scoreboard.

After one quarter of play the Patriots led the Wildcats 8-6. In the 2nd quarter both teams scored three touchdowns each but Crisp didn’t convert any of its PAT chances. The halftime score stood at 30-24 for Nat Greene. In the second half the Patriots out scored the Wildcats 24-20 and the final ended 54-44.

The Wildcats connected on 5 touchdown passes through the air and two on the ground for 42 points, but converted just one time on the PAT’s. On the night quarterback Griffin Gravitt was 16-39 for 451 yards with 5 touchdowns and 3 interceptions in passing, he also had one rushing td and one 2-point conversion. The receiving corps had Garrett Holt with 4 receptions for 123 yards and 2 touchdowns. Devin Howard had 4 receptions for 116 yards and a touchdown. Gaige Little had 4 receptions for 103 yards and Blake Odom also had 4 catches for 109 yards and a touchdown. Bobby Ray Mitchell also scored from 2 yards out for the Wild cats.

On defense Mitchell showed out with 14 tackles and 12 assists and two tackles for loss. William Purvis had 6 tackles and 5 assists and caused a fumble and Gaige Little was 6 and 3 with 3 fumble recoveries and 2 interceptions. The Wildcats play at Solid Rock on Friday.cheer leaders wild
