DOOLING – Phyllis Purvis, age 60, of 1591 Johnson Street, Dooling, died Saturday, September 24, 2016, at her residence.

Born in Vienna, she was the daughter of the late Charlie Purvis and Velma Abbott Purvis. She was a member of Tippettville Baptist Church and worked as a cook and waitress. Phyllis was a loving and devoted mother and grandmother.

She is survived by her daughter, Elizabeth Johnson (Wendell) of Dooling; her son, Christopher Moore (Dawnna) of Byromville; her companion, Herman Daniels of Dooling; her sisters, Jean Kinnerly of Texas, Loretta Miles of Dahlonega, Mary Farmer of Columbus, Cindy Gilbert of Columbus and Debbie Smith of Dahlonega; her brothers, Phillip Purvis of Vienna, Ray Johnson of Dahlonega, Bobby Johnson of Dahlonega and Jimmy Johnson of Florida; 13 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.

Graveside services were held at 3 PM Tuesday, September 27 in Tippettville Cemetery with Rev. Jimmy Gauthier officiating. Recordings of “Go Rest High,” “I’ll Love You Through It” and “I Just Called to Say I Love You” were played.
