Lady Cougars win big on Senior Night

Senior night for the lady Cougars went really quick as the Cougars downed the Dougherty Trojans 18-0 in a game shortened by the mercy rule. The seniors Alexis Meadows, Ansley Mitchell and Sydney Peavy were recognized before the game along with their families.

The winning pitcher in the game was Rilee Duckworth who went two innings and had three k’s; she was relieved by Hunter meadows who closed the game with 2k’s and a save. The two pitchers combined for a no hitter. On the day Hunter Meadows, Jordan Dickerson, Ivy Lewis, Mia Murray and Peavy  all collected 2 hits each for the winners. The Cougars finished their season in Sylvester against Worth County on Thursday with a 11-11 overall and a 6-6 record in region play. The girls finished as the number three seed in the region and will begin their state playoffs against Jenkins.
