The Lady Wildcats closed out their 2016 softball campaign in the State playoffs here in Cordele on Tuesday by dropping two games to Briarwood 12-0 and 4-1. The ladies finished the season with an 11-7 report card that included wins and losses against numerous AAA schools like Southland, Tift Area and Westfield. The lady cat’s opponent comes from the same region as two time defending state champion Windsor Academy and they were powerful. The lady cats couldn’t get any offense generated at all against them in the first game and very little offense in the second game. The ladies never gave up and played hard to the end. “This has been the first time in three years the Wildcats have hosted a playoff game so we are moving in the right direction,” said Head Coach Chuck Hester. The Coach went on to say,“ we are certainly going to miss our three seniors Olivia, Josey and Terri they and the other girls played hard every game and just gave us a phenomenal effort all year but we have a good nucleus coming back.”
