Pitts – Mr. Osco L. Bennett, age 102, of Pitts, Georgia, passed away Friday, October 21, 2016, at Pruitt Health Care in Ashburn. Funeral Services were held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 25, 2016, at Union Baptist Church. Rev. Buford Tanner, and Rev. Steve Clifton officiated.  Interment was in the family plot in the Union Cemetery.

Visitation was held Monday, October 24, 2017, from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. in the Funeral Home.

Mr. Bennett was born on August 8, 1914, in Pitts.  He was son of the late Miles A. Bennett and Ida Elkins Bennett. He was retired Liberty National Life Insurance Agent and farmer.  He was a member of the Union Baptist Church, where he was a member of the Men’s Bible Sunday School Class. He was a Deacon Emeritus and former Church Treasurer. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lonelle Braziel Bennett.

Survivors include: Son – Ronny (Francine) Bennett of Cordele, Daughter – Glenda (Wayne) Molton of Monroe, Grandchildren Wes (Kathy) Bennett of Cordele and Shannon (Alan) Maddox of Loganville, Great Grandchildren – Garrett Bennett, Graham Bennett, Gatlin Bennett, Taylor Maddox, and Jacob Maddox.

Pallbearers were:  Active – Al Crenshaw, Jerry Rhodes, Rex Bullock, Larry Bullock, Charles Walker, Darfus Holcomb, Richard Nutt, and Billy Hawkins.  Honorary were:  Wes Hopper, Corey Hobbs, Jeff Collins, and Blake Manning.

Music was provided by Beth Bullock, CD, and the Union Trio.

Frazier and Son Funeral Home in Rochelle was in charge of arrangements.
