After receiving numerous complaints of disturbing the peace, gunfire, and possible drug activity occurring at 910 Azalea Circle, the Crisp County Sheriff’s Office initiated an investigation into the allegations. During the investigation, deputies and agents with the Mid-South Narcotics Task Force performed surveillance on the residence watching for illegal activity.

At one point of the investigation, residents at the 910 Azalea Circle address made threats to shoot at a Crisp County Power Commission power pole.

Deputies and agents responded to the address where they made contact with 39-year-old Candace Brantley and 37-year-old Rodrekius Powell, residents of 910 Azalea Circle. During this encounter, officers with State Probation were called to the address and a probationary search was made.

During the search law, enforcement discovered a quantity of “crack” cocaine, 20 hydrocodone tablets, and two firearms in the residence.

Both Brantley and Powell were arrested and charged with possession of cocaine, possession of hydrocodone, a schedule II narcotic, and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony. Powell was also charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

Currently both defendants are being housed in the Crisp County Detention Center.
