According to Sheriff Hancock, on Thursday, November 3, 2016, Deputy Kris Herrick observed and confirmed with his Lidar unit a red van traveling in excess of 100 mph.

Herrick stopped the vehicle at the 90 mile marker on I-75. He approached the passenger side of the vehicle, at which time he noticed a male passenger that was sweating profusely. Herrick informed the female driver of the reason for the stop. She advised Herrick that she was not traveling that fast. Deputy Herrick requested identification from the driver and inquired about the smell of raw marijuana coming from the vehicle. Both occupants were asked to step to the rear of the vehicle.

After further investigation, it was determined that the passenger was giving Deputy Herrick false identity information.

The driver, Fatuma Solango was issued a citation for speeding.

The passenger, having originally produced a fraudulent Florida identification card, was transported to the Crisp County Detention Center. Once the suspect was fingerprinted, it was determined that his correct identity is Jamie Termaine Evans with an alias of Lakim Davis.

The forty-two-year old has an outstanding probation warrant with the United States Marshal’s Service. His was originally charged for weapons trafficking. Evans is charged locally with giving false information to an officer, possession of fraudulent identification. He also has a hold for the United States Marshals Office.
