Funeral services for Jessie “Jimmie” Latham, Jr. of Cordele will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, December 9, 2016 at Rocky Mount Baptist Church in Turner County. Burial will follow in Rocky Mount Cemetery.  The family will receive friends Thursday, December 8, 2016 from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. at Rainey Family Funeral Services. Jessie, 86, passed away Tuesday at Crisp Regional Hospital. He was preceded in death by a son, Jamie Latham. Jessie was born in Turner County and was the son of the late Jessie James Latham, Sr. and Susie Jane White Latham. He worked for many years as a service tech for Sears. He was an active member and served on the board of deacons at Rocky Mount Baptist Church. Jessie is survived by his wife of 58 years, Melanie Moore Latham of Cordele; a daughter, Theda Latham Schnute and her husband, John of Fayetteville; a sister, Grace Poole of Dublin; two grandchildren, Jessica Schnute, and Jared Schnute and his wife, Lindsay; and two great-grandchildren, Asher Schnute and Ava Schnute.
