Starting off with the world and nation and then ending with the local sports scene. Here is a guess as to what will transpire in 2017.

You can expect to see a bunch of President Obama’s executive orders reversed. Before June 1st I would expect and increased military presence in Iraq and Afghanistan as abolishing ISIS, Al Qaeda and the Taliban are top goals of the incoming President. I would say that as it is written now you can say good-bye and good riddance to the Affordable Care Act. You might even get a vision as to what the new wall on the border with Mexico may one day look like. I am certain it will be a wall but it is not going to be a 30-foot concrete structure that is 2000 miles long but more than likely a combination of the natural terrain and a structure. I would say that by the end of 2017, NAFTA will begin being reorganized by Mexico and Canada so as to try and prevent President Trump from completely destroying it. I know that we will still be feeding the United Nations but my hope is to have moved it to Switzerland or somewhere out of this country. A major spending increase on infrastructure items in America will get tabled this year and I can see the Iranians backing down in the Middle East. What you won’t see is all those celebrities that swore they were leaving America if Trump wins going anywhere. We can’t have everything we want.

On the home front I can see Crisp County Cougar Baseball, soccer, softball, basketball, wrestling and football all on the up swing. I for see the Cougar Football team at least making another run to the final four and maybe further. Can they go undefeated at least 10-0, yes I think they will. I can see the Crisp Academy football, baseball, basketball and softball teams all making runs in the playoffs again. Fullington Academy should excel also in their 4 major sports and also make runs in the playoffs. The Dooly County Bobcats Football will again be in the hunt for a playoff spot. Over in Wilcox the girl’s softball team should still be collecting w’s as will the basketball squads. This year and next the Patriot football team will start to collect more wins as well. In college I can see Georgia bouncing back and picking up 2 or 3 more wins, I should say right here they ought too. As for the Braves a new stadium isn’t going to get them more wins. At 217lbs one thing you can count on is that I will be losing a great deal of weight this year, I really don’t have a choice. So to all of you from all of us Happy New Year!joejoe-4-copy
