According to State Representative Patty Bentley, six approved committee members interviewed 12 people for the Dooly County School Board.  Three names were selected and submitted to the Governor’s office recommending their appointment to the Dooly Board.  Approval or denial is expected next week.  Per Representative Bentley, everyone interviewed had the same genuine desire to make the Dooly County School System better, and she felt that all interviewed would have been qualified for Board appointment.  “Unfortunately, we cannot appoint all of them,” stated Bentley, “but we did identify the top three candidates to move Dooly forward.  Additionally, the two elected to the board in November, Katrice Taylor and Cory Jones, will remain as they qualified to run, ran successful campaigns, and were voted in by the people.  It is only fair and right for them to serve on the Board for the next four years, and I support that wholeheartedly.”
