The CCHS Cougars hosted the Area 2AAA Duals this week.Eight total teams showed up to battle out for the 2 spots headed this Friday and Saturday to Macon.

The McNair Mustangs won the duals beating the host Cougars in the finals 42-34. The young Cougars beat Central Macon and Pike County to advance to the finals against McNair. “McNair is a very good squad loaded with athletic kids who are very physical. We lost some swing matches were we had a chance to win and that was the difference,” said Head Coach Bill Pitts. “We have no Seniors on this years squad so I am very happy and proud to see the kids get back to Macon.”

Overall, Coach Pitts felt they had performed ok but he did see many things and areas that have to be improved on. “Also, I think some of the kids can now see that they have to get better in the practice room on different parts of the game. I am always proud of the kids, we are by far the youngest squad out there this season, but our kids work hard. Coach Pitts wishes to say thank you to several people.” To the Crisp County Administration and coaches for allowing us the use of the facility. The Mat Girls, they run the tables and do a great job. The parents and our booster club warriors. Ms. Tina. Ms Grinnell. Ms Mayberry, Ms Linda and Ms Latoshia all made a great hospitality room  and ran concessions. It was a wonderful experience.”If anyone was left out Coach Pitts expressed that their efforts were of  “great value to the team.”  The Cougars will be participating in the traditionals at Pike County, Sectionals and then the State will follow. Go Cougars!!
