SASSER — Cullie C. Powell, 78, died Saturday, Jan. 21, 2017 at Phoebe North in Albany, Ga. Memorial services will be held at 3 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 26, 2017 in the chapel of Hughes & Wright Funeral Home The family will receive friends at the funeral home prior to the service beginning at 2 p.m.

Cullie was born in Cordele, Ga. to Cullie Carey Powell, Sr. and Dora Brady Powell. He was a retired warehouse manager for LaSalle Bristol. He was a member of the former Macedonia Baptist Church. He had several loves of life which included fishing, camping, family and especially his beloved wife.

He is survived by his devoted wife: Jo Powell of Sasser, Ga.; his daughters and their husbands: Lynne Powell (Cal) Land of Sasser, Ga. and Diane Powell (Greg) Harper of Dawson, Ga.; three grandsons: Steven Childers, Dustin Harper and Weston Harper; and his furry buddy Chuckee.

Cullie was dependent on motorized assistance in his later years. He was proud to be able to have a motorized chair. His desire would be to assist others in acquiring assistance such as this.
