Well all in all it has been a real good football year. The Cougars were dominate and the Atlanta Falcons have everyone in the state buzzing. Even the haters that love them Cowboys, Steelers, Raiders and Dolphins all of them are closet Falcon fans. So everyone is a Falcon fan now days. However, back in the day it was not so, I am old enough to remember when folks couldn’t stomach the Falcons. From the time Rankin Smith Sr. bought an expansion franchise in 1965 for 8.5 million dollars the Falcons have had some serious ups and downs. By the way the Falcons are worth a cool 1.125 Billion dollars today  which is an increase of 132 times. In the 1st twenty years of the Falcons existence they made the playoffs 3 times there biggest year being 1980 under then Head Coach Leeman Bennett. The Falcons went to the playoffs and played the Cowboys and went home. So what is different from 1966 to 1986 era vs today.

Well in the last 30 years from 1986 to present day the Falcons have reached the playoffs nine times and this year is the first time in 4 years. Overall the Falcons are 342-437-6 in regular season and 9-12 in post season in 50 years of playing. I think the Falcons are going to turn the corner and start a rather long and prosperous run as a franchise joejoe-4-copy
