A graveside service for Noel Glenn Perry was held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, February 14, 2017 at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery in Rebecca. Jeff Leggett, Ed Feagin and Jerry Roberson shared memories with those in attendance. “Margaritaville” by Jimmy Buffett was played at the close of the service.  Glenn, 66, passed away Saturday, February 11, 2017 at Phoebe-Putney Memorial Hospital in Albany. He was born in Fitzgerald in September 1950 to John Harris Perry and Lina Gibbs Perry of Rebecca. Glenn was a lawyer for more than 30 years and proudly and successfully represented clients in state and federal courtrooms throughout Georgia. In his practice he also routinely assisted the poor and the elderly at little to no charge his entire career. He made a positive difference in many lives. He was a member of the Georgia Trial Lawyers Association, the Georgia Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers and the Association of Trial Lawyers of America. He enjoyed hunting and was an avid fisherman in all waters from the smallest pond or creek to the offshore Gulf. Glenn was a world-class competition barbecue cook. He won several state championships in Florida and Georgia and he competed for the world championship seven consecutive years. He was a Free Mason, Shriner and Rotarian. Glenn is survived by his mother, Lina Gibbs Perry of Cordele; three brothers, John H. Perry Jr. and his wife, Chris of Cordele, Earl Lindsey Perry and his wife, Marilyn of Ashburn and Michael Joseph Perry and his wife, Lori of Marietta; a niece, Laura Michelle Perry Gravitt and her husband, Rusty of Ashburn; and two great-nephews, Griffin Gravitt and Garrett Gravitt.
