Hugh Dorsey Marchant, III, 48 of Cordele, passed away Thursday, April 13, 2017 in Tattnall County as the result of an accident.  He was born in McRae and was the son of  Hugh Dorsey Marchant, Jr. and Penny Kirven Marchant.  Hugh was a truck driver and a member of Cordele First United Methodist Church. He was very active in coaching soccer teams in Crisp County. Hugh is survived by his three sons, Edward Marchant, Logan Marchant and Cameron Marchant, all of Cordele; his parents, Hugh and Penny Marchant of Jacksonville, FL; a sister, Kathy Jones of Jacksonville, FL; and a nephew and niece, Reed Jones and Libby Jones, also of Jacksonville, FL. No service will be held but the family will meet with friends from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Monday evening, April 17, 2017 at Rainey Family Funeral Services. Memorials made to the Crisp County High School Soccer Boosters Club, 2402 Frontage Road, Cordele, GA 31015, would be appreciated by the family.
