Funeral services for Eunice Bowen Gibbs of Cordele, will be held at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, April 22, 2017 in the chapel of Rainey Family Funeral services. The committal service will follow in Sunnyside Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Eunice passed away Thursday, April 20, 2017 at her residence. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clinton Doyle Gibbs of Cordele. She was born in Cordele, the daughter of the late Lee Raymond Bowen and Nettie Albritton Bowen.  She was a homemaker and an active member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. Most important to her were God, her family and her church family. She is survived by her son and his wife, Raymond and Cathy Gibbs of Cordele;  a granddaughter and her husband, Mandy and Shane Layfield of Arabi;  a grandson and his wife, Jason and Tasha Gibbs of Cordele;  four great-grandchildren, Rusty Henderson, Thomas Layfield, Caleb Gibbs and Baylee Gibbs; and three sisters, Pearline Owens of Albany, Joyce Presley of Cordele and Jeanette West and her husband, Donnie of Lake City, FL. She was preceded in death by a sister, Louise Bowen and two brothers-in-law, Lamar Owens and Ronald Presley. Arrangements are by Rainey Family Funeral Services.
