CORDELE — Ernest “Ernie” Leon Nipper, 64, died Monday, May 15, 2017 at his residence. Services will be at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, May 20, 2017 in the chapel of Hughes & Wright Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Sunnyside Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 1:00 until time of service at the funeral home.

Ernie was born in Vienna, Georgia to the late Bobby Nipper and the late Betty Jean Williams Nipper. He was preceded in death by his grand-daughter, Lydia Elaine Nipper and a brother, Derrell Nipper. He was a self-employed motorcycle repairman and jack of all trades. He was a member of Hope Ministries. He was known for his love of motorcycling. He also had things he enjoyed: family, friends and birds and life in general. His grandchildren were also a great love of his.

Surviving Ernie are his wife: Janice Nipper or Cordele; his children: Kane (Amanda) Nipper and Clayton Nipper all of Cordele; his siblings: Brian (Della) Nipper of Odom, Ga. and Marcia N. (Guy) Phillips of Cordele; his grandchildren: Bella Nipper, Tessa Nipper, Rayne Nipper, Logan Nipper and Charlie Nipper; sister-in-law, Gloria Gibson and several nieces and nephews.
