Of Hahira, GA passed away Friday, June 09, 2017 at his residence. He was born on September 19, 1949 in Jacksonville Florida to the late Elliott Morgan Yancey and Iva Lucreaettia Harper Yancey. He was a bus driver for Lowndes County School System for a number of years. He also worked for the Department of Corrections as a Construction Services Supervisor for 19 years. He loved to ride motorcycles and loved being a Papa. He was a genuine, caring, and honest man that never met a stranger. He was proud of his babies and most of all he adored his best friend and wife whom he loved to spoil. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by two sisters.

Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Jane Yancey of Hahira, GA; Daughter, Dawn Yancey of Vidalia, GA; Daughter and Son-in-law, Jami & Chris West of Valdosta, GA; Grandchildren: Skylar, Olivia and Lorelei; Sisters, Jackie Strickland, Francis Kelly and Yvonne Norman; Brother, Butch Yancey.

A celebration of life will be held Wednesday, June 14, 2017 at 11:00 AM in the Valdosta Chapel of Music Funeral Services. The family will receive friends for two hours prior to services from 9:00 AM to 11:00AM. Messages of sympathy may be expressed online at www.musicfuneralservices.com.
