Watermelon Capital Queens Crowned

Beauty, confidence, and poise graced the stage at the Crisp County Middle School auditorium on Saturday as Cordele’s 29th Annual Watermelon Capital Queens were crowned.  Taking their place to represent Cordele in upcoming Watermelon Festival events are (l-r) Queen Miss Tiffany Renee Pitts of Warner Robins, Millie Shannon McKenzie of Perry, Mary Alyce Statham of Tifton, Olivia Rose Collins of Pineview, and Denim Marie Lovett of Bonaire.  The Cordele Dispatch took over managing the pageant this year when Arlene Holmes and Lioness Club retired as its organizers.  There were 30 contestants, and the first time efforts of the Cordele Dispatch were very successful.  However, improvements have been identified to increase contestant participation and make next year’s pageant even better.  Please see “Pageant” on page 3A for a list of the Queens and their courts.

 In the Tiny Miss Category the Queen is Olivia Rose Collins, 1st Runner up is Reagan Broadway, 2nd Runner up Zoey Grace Pope, 3rd Runner up is Carlie Raegan Emerson, and 4th Runner up is Gabrielle Lida Wiggins. Photogenic and Prettiest Dress winner was Reagan Broadway.

In the Little Miss Category the Queen is Millie Shannon McKenzie, 1st Runner up is Khloe’ Marie Little, and 2nd Runner up is Summer Rose Sinyard.  Photogenic winner was Summer Sinyard and Prettiest Dress Winner was Millie McKenzie.

In the Petite Miss Category, the Queen is Mary Alyce Statham, 1st Runner up is Tyler Anne Pope, 2nd Runner up is Jessie Alicia Simmons, 3rd Runner up is Cadence Blaire Lane, and 4th Runner up Autumn Grace Bodrey.  The Photogenic and Prettiest Dress winner was Mary Statham.

In the Young Miss Category, the Queen is Denim Marie Lovett, 1st Runner up is Brooklyn Bohannon, 2nd Runner up is Elizabeth Sanders, and 3rd Runner up Mary Wesley Conner.  The Photogenic winner was Brooklyn Bohannon and Prettiest Dress was Denim Lovett.

In the Miss Category, the Queen is Tiffany Renee Pitts, 1st Runner up Madison Elizabeth Barber, and 2nd Runner up Meredith Lauren McGlamory.  The Photogenic and Prettiest Dress winner was Madison Barber.
