Updated Watermelon Parade route

The “Watermelon Days Parade” will line up between 7:30 – 8:30 a.m. on June 24 th .

ONLY numbers 1 – 16 can enter at 15 th Avenue & 7 th Street. All others PLEASE ENTER BY 7 th STREET

AND 13 th or 14 th AVENUE ONLY – ALL OTHER ENTRANCES WILL BE BLOCKED

BY LAW ENFORCEMENT. NO EXCEPTIONS! PARADE OFFICIALS WILL BE THERE TO

DIRECT YOU.

The parade will begin promptly at 8:30 am. The parade route will begin at the corner of 6 th Street and

15 th Avenue proceeding EAST on 15 th Avenue, ending up at Williams Field (which is at 15 th Avenue &

Owens Street) – behind the Belk Shopping Center.

We have assigned numbers to all participants. YOUR number is in “RED”. Please notify all your

participants of your “line-up number.” Participants were lined up in order in which they were received

at the Chamber office.

Remember it is EXTREMELY important to keep 25’ distance between each parade entry. Parade officials

will be monitoring the parade route to ensure that the parade moves at a consistent and safe speed. You ARE

ONLY allowed to stop one time and no longer than one minute for demonstrations during the parade!!!!

The Cordele Police Dept. will issue tickets if this is not adhered to and also for any other violations

during the parade.

Candy can only be thrown by walkers, it CAN NOT be thrown from moving vehicles!! In doing this we can

be sure that we have a SAFE AND FUN WATERMELON DAYS PARADE.

Due to the heat & humidity we advise you to have beverages for your group. Be sure walkers keep up

with the vehicle for safety reasons!!!!

parade in Watermelon Park behind the old hospital (3 rd St & 3 rd Ave.)
