The Senior Olympics or more precisely, The Watermelon Capital Senior Games. Our exact date of starting is as of now not known however it will be soon. Jimmy Culpepper of Cordele has been participating in these events around the southeast USA for some time and is on board with helping to organize our local event. Below you will find a list of the initial events we are proposing to begin with, but what we need is volunteers and people interested in participating. Other organizations that will be interested in sponsoring these games. For years I have heard countless times about activities for our senior citizens. Well here you are, the Crisp Recreation Department is fully on board with this activity and as Jimmy has said we will be promoting fitness and health for all concerned. This activity will  be for all walks of life from the very active in physical fitness to those who might be considered shut in. There is something for everyone male and female of course. These events will be open to everyone in the area.

The age groups are broken down into 5-year increments starting at 50 to 54 and then 55 to 59 and 60 to 64 and 65 to 69 and 70 to 74 and 75 to 79 and 80 to 84 and 85 to 89 and then 90 and above.
