Funeral services for Amanda Lee Howard of Cordele will be held at 4:00 p.m. Friday, July 28, 2017 in the chapel of Rainey Family Funeral Services and the committal service will follow in Pleasant Hill Freewill Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the service Friday beginning at 3:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Mandy, 38, passed away Wednesday, July 26, 2017 at her residence.  She was born in Cordele and was the daughter of Larry Edwin Tharpe and the late Carol Denise Tarpley Tharpe. A beautiful soul with a heart of gold, Mandy loved her son with all her being. She was such a compassionate person for people, never caring what color your skin was or your social status. If she loved you she loved you large. She had that same compassion for animals and loved her two cats, Chew Chew and Moo Moo with all her heart. But if you ever betrayed her, she fought to forgive. She was a hard-working carpenter but also enjoyed wood-working as a hobby, and fishing for fun. Mandy is survived by her son, Tayton Howard; her father, Larry Tharpe and his special friend, Barbara McCarty, of Cordele; two sisters, Tina McCarty and Amber Crenshaw and her husband, Clint Crenshaw, all of Cordele; three nephews and a niece, Tristan McCarty, Christian McCarty, Creed Crenshaw and Corynne McCarty.
