Mildred Bowden Gunn, 100,  passed away Monday, September 4, 2017 at her residence in Vienna. She was preceded in death by her husband, Shaffer Doyle Gunn. Mildred was born in Maysville, the daughter of the late Hubert Middleton and Nina Faye Greer Bowden. She was a homemaker and a Baptist. She loved her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren and enjoyed her time with them. She also received much pleasure from working with her flowers and gardening. Mildred is survived by three children and their spouses, John Gunn of Vienna, Doyle and Aleia Gunn of Jonesboro and Elaine and Bill Norton of Statesboro; four grandchildren and their spouses, Cindy and David Smith of Cordele, Cheryl and Scott Jenkins of Lebanon, TN, Zachary and Adeline Brooks of Charlotte, NC and Macy Norton of Statesboro; and four great-grandchildren, Nikki Smith of Thomasville, and Logan Jenkins, Jordon Jenkins and Jessica Jenkins, all of Lebanon, TN. The family will receive friends Wednesday afternoon from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. at the family residence, 1104 Swearengen Road, Vienna, GA 31092. A private family service will be held later.
