1. CORDELE– Schools have already been closed for today due to impending weather, however both Crisp County and Wilcox County have already announced school will be cancelled for Tuesday, September 12 as well.

Crisp County announced on Friday they would be closing their doors for both Monday and Tuesday after neighboring Tift Countycalled off school.

Crisp County Superintendent David Mims had said they would be monitoring the situation closely while working with other local school systems and the Crisp County Emergency Management Agency.

Wilcox County Superintendent Julie Childers reached out late Sunday afternoon to announce Wilcox also would not be open on Tuesday.

Initially, Childers said Wilcox would not run the buses and have school if there was sustained winds above 40 miles per hour.
