Rev. Ed Eschmann and Dr. Nita Crump conducted  funeral services for Rev. William Benjamin Dowdy of Cordele  at 11:00 a.m. Friday, November 17, 2017 in the chapel of Rainey Family Funeral Services.  Tommie Jean Beacham, pianist played soft music. Becky Perkins accompanied by Rev. Eschmann on the guitar, sang “Precious Lord Take My Hand” and “I Can’t Even Walk Without You Holding My Hand.” Serving as pallbearers were Carden Summers, Farrow Baker, Bob Brown, Phillip Hayslip, Lamar Dean and T.J. Malpass. The committal service  followed in Midway Church Cemetery. The family requests that memorials  be made to the charity of your choice or to Midway United Methodist Church, 108 East 13th Avenue, Cordele, GA 31015 Arrangements are by Rainey Family Funeral Services.
