Margie Arleen O’Rourke

Margie Arleen O’Rourke, 77, died Sunday, January 7, 2018, in Jacksonville, FL surrounded by her children. She was born in Rochelle, Georgia, daughter of the late Maxwell and Bernice (Bellamy) Hancock.
Margie loved her family dearly and her grandchildren were a large part of her life. She was compassionate and giving and always concerned with taking care of everyone around her. Margie worked for Belk stores for over 25 years. She started in retail sales at J.B. White stores in Irmo, South Carolina before transferring to Florida to be near her grandchildren. She loved interacting with her customers, especially the children.
Margie was pre-deceased by her husband, John O’Rourke, and brothers Maxwell Durham Hancock and Thomas Benjamin Hancock.
She is survived by her sons Hugh Michael O’Rourke (Tena) and David Allen O’Rourke, and daughter Bridget Bernice Pudimat (Gary), grandchildren Jordan Elisabeth and Nolan Oskar Pudimat, sisters Betty Ann Gordon, Maggie Juanita Nave, and Barbara Lee Lamb, and brother Michael Hancock (Patty).
The memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 13, 2018 at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, 3976 Hendricks Avenue, Jacksonville, FL 32207 at 2:00 pm.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in Margie’s name may be directed to the Wounded Warrior Project or the American Heart Association.
