Two arrested after chase and wreck

CORDELE – On Monday, February 26 at approximately midnight, two suspects fled from Georgia State Patrol in a tan colored 1999 Nissan Maxima. The suspects were 25-year-old Travis Spivey and 34-year-old Omar Dennis. Officers pursued the suspects on 4th Ave. until the driver, Spivey lost control of the car while traveling on N Bay St. and traveled off the south edge of the freight way. The car

traveled approximately 120 ft. and struck a culvert before traveling another 5 ft. and struck a mailbox with the front of the vehicle. The car continued moving for another 68 ft. and struck a fire hydrant and started rotating clockwise and began overturning.

Both suspects were captured and brought to the hospital to check for any injuries. Both suspects have since been released from the hospital and are in police custody. Charges are currently pending.
