CORDELE – Funeral services will held for Billy Joe “B.J.” Parker, 80, at 3 p.m., Friday, March 2, 2018 at the chapel of Hughes & Wright Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Penia Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the service beginning at 1:30 p.m.

Mr. Parker died at his residence Tuesday, Feb. 27, 2018. He is the son of the late William Wesley Parker and the late Ruth Inez Hicks Parker of Dallas, Ga. He was an office manager for Lasco Industries. He was a faithful member of Penia Baptist Church. He was active in the church softball league, the church choir, and served as a Deacon, Sunday School Superintendent and teacher. He was also active with the Little League.

 He is survived by his wife: Diane Brown Parker of Cordele; his sons: Daniel Eric Parker, Joseph Gary (Tina) Parker and Kevin Wayne (Sheila) Parker all of Cordele; his grandchildren: Colby Daniel (Kay) Parker, Tiffany Brooke (Nathan) Zeigler, Tyler Davis (Christy) Parker and Brison Davis Parker; his great-grandchildren: David Aden Jackson and Savannah Grace Parker; and his step-great-grandchildren: Nathan Zeigler, Dalton Zeigler, Collin Zeigler, Jaxson Zeigler, Macy Hogg and Eli Hogg.
