The sound of clanging horseshoes against metal stakes was heard again as the Crisp Horseshoe Club kicked off its 2018 season this week on Tuesday, March 13, at the courts in Turner Park. Jim Henderson, who comes down to pitch with us from Montezuma, jumped into the league lead by winning all three games. Ronnie Miller, Randy Morris and Frank Beck are tied for second with 2 wins each. Marcus Waters had high ringer game with a 35% (14 ringers in 40 shoes) game. Miller had high handicap game with a 122. Everyone is welcome to come out and join us on Tuesdays at 6:00 p.m. at Turner Park on 3rd St and 24th Ave. We do a handicap scoring system so everyone has an equal chance of winning, whether they throw 1 ringer a game or 25 a game.
The Georgia Horseshoe Pitching Association kicks off its Saturday tournaments this weekend here in Cordele with us hosting. Pitchers of all skill levels from all over the state will be here to compete.
