Cordele Police Department Reports: April 17 through April 22

Tuesday, April 17

At 7:58 a.m., Cordele Police were dispatched to 802 E 24th Ave in reference to an accident. Investigation revealed that Gilberto Lopez-Garcia was driving while unlicensed. The subject was cited for driving while unlicensed, and transported to Crisp County LEC.

At 11:12 p.m., Cordele Police were traveling North on 3rd St. when they stopped at the red light at the intersection of 3rd St. and 8th Ave. While stopped, officers noticed a white male in the middle on the road slouched forward, holding his forearm and appeared to be talking to himself. After further investigation it was determined that the male, later identified as Hunter Watson had been shot. He was transported to the Crisp County ER.

Wednesday, April 18

At 9:21 p.m., Cordele Police conducted a traffic stop about a traffic violation. During the traffic stop, the vehicle was searched and the driver was arrested for possession of marijuana and possession of a scheduled 4 controlled substance. The driver was identified as Gabriel Paul and was transported to the Crisp County Detention Center. Warrants will be requested on these two charges.

Thursday, April 19

At 12:46 p.m., Cordele Police responded to a walk-in. Upon arrival the Fraud Investigator for Georgia Auto Pawn in Cordele, GA stated that an employee had been suspected of fraudulent activity.

At 4:55 p.m., Cordele Police responded to 300 Block of W 23rd Ave in reference to an Assault.

Friday, April 20

At 1:41 a.m., Cordele Police responded to Morningside Apartments at 600 Block of Blackshear Road, in reference to Shots Fired. The caller stated that six or seven shots had been fired in the area and that she was not sure if suspects were on foot or in a vehicle. Police investigated the area but had negative contact.

At 4:36 p.m., Cordele Police were dispatched to 501 North 7th St in reference to a disturbance that occurred at 1407 East 16th Ave.

Saturday, April 21

At 2:01 a.m., Cordele Police responded to 1002 North Joe Wright Drive in reference to aggravated assault. A caller stated that there was a fight going on, and also advised that a female had just been shot.

At 11:27 a.m., Cordele Police were approached at 104 N 12th St in reference to a stolen bicycle.

At approximately 7:50 a.m., Cordele Police observed a subject driving a tan colored SUV traveling East on 16th Ave not wearing a seatbelt. Further actions resulted in a traffic stop being initiated and the driver being arrested on traffic violations and an active warrant.

Sunday, April 22

At 12:51p.m., Cordele Police observed a silver vehicle traveling west bound on 16th Ave driven by Richard Glover, who was not wearing his seatbelt. After a traffic stop was conducted on the vehicle, further actions resulted in Glover being arrested after refusing to sign any citations.

At 12:57 p.m., Cordele Police were dispatched to 1508 McLeod Circle in reference to an Entering Auto.

At 3:07 p.m., Cordele Police responded to 1215 E 16th Ave (Wal-Mart) in reference to found property.
