EVA MAE DURHAM

CORDELE – On September 25, 1936, a loving and caring spirit was gifted to this world when Eva Mae Durham was born. She was welcomed to this world by her parents, the late Mr. J. D. Durham and the late Ms. Gladys Smith.
Born in Bibb County, Georgia, she received her education from the public school system.
She accepted Christ as her personal Savior and united with the Elizabeth First Baptist Church in Abbeville, Georgia. It was always her desire to serve in whatever capacity she could.
A woman of great worth, she never shied away from work. She was employed by J. T . Mann and James & Marie Bell for many years. She also worked for many years at Abbeville Nursing Home.
She enjoyed many precious moments with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Additionally she found great comfort in reading her Bible. She especially enjoyed reading her newspaper as well as a medical books. Other joyous moments of her life were spent watching Westerns and eating out. She especially enjoyed shopping at Wal-Mart, Dollar Tree, and Harvey’s.
The journey of her life will forever be cherished by her loving and devoted children, Robin Durham (Enoch) Booker of Washington, GA, Walter O. (Debra) Durham of Jacksonville, FL, William O. (Robin) Durham of Albany, GA, Laura Ann Durham of Abbeville, GA, Valerie Hope Durham of Jacksonville, FL, and Sandra Denice Durham of Jonesboro, GA; her loving grandchildren, one of whom she reared, Clifford Keith (Monae) Durham of Newport News, VA, Thomas Booker, Andrea Durham, Damion Durham, Taffnie Durham, Walter Durham, Jr., William Dennis Durham, Zachary Durham, Tara Durham-Hart, and Kourtney Durham (Maurice) Smith; her great grandchildren; her beloved brothers, Paul Singleton and Jerome Singleton both of Macon, Georgia, Walter “Boot” (Beverly) Durham of Miami, FL, and Mr. James “J. D.” Durham of Detroit, Michigan; her loving sisters, Diane Singleton of Macon, Georgia, Rose Mary Ell-Amin of Warner Robins, Georgia, and Geraldine (Charles) Mitchell of Detroit, Michigan; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many sorrowing friends.
