Crisp County Rec Department results from state meet

COMMERCE, GA- The Crisp County Recreation Department participated in the Georgia Recreation and Parks Association Hall of Fame Track and Field Event in Commerce, Georgia last weekend.

CCRD state champs were Amir Putman, who ran an 8.61 second 50-meter dash in the seven and eight year-old division. The other state champ was Sawyer McGinnis, who broke a 22-year-old record for first place in the one mile run. McGinnis finished with a time of 5 minutes, 30 seconds, breaking the old record by three seconds in the 11-12 year old division.

Some other CCRD athlete results from state:

200-Meter Dash

Ricky Johnson finished third in the state in the 11-12 year old boys’ division with a time of 26.97. Paris Daniels took fourth place in the 11-12 girls’ division with a time of 29.35. Tamara Johnson finished sixth in the 7-8 girls’ event with a time of 36.18 seconds. D’Irayan Holly took a sixth place finish in the 7-8 boys’ event with a time of 34.48. Lebron Dixon finished seventh in the boys’ 9-10 division with a time of 31.82. Aniyah Young finished eighth in the girls’ 13-14 division at 29.74, and Ahmed Brown took seventh in the 13-14 boys’ division in the event with a finish of 26.94.

400-Meter Dash

Aniyah Young finished fifth in the 13-14 year old girls’ event with a time of one minute, seven seconds. Chad Dawson took seventh place in the 9-10 boys’ event with a time of one minute, 45.71 seconds. Marino Blanton took an eighth place finish in the 11-12 boys’ competition with a time of one minute, 6.87 seconds. Journi Weaver and Abby Mixon finished 12th and 13th respectively in the 7-8 girls’ division. Carson Brown, 12th place, and Matthew Bedore, 13th, competed in the 7-8 boys’ competition.

100-Meter Dash

Ricky Johnson was the state runner-up in the 11-12 year-old boys competition with a time of 13.28 seconds. D’Irayan Holly took fifth place in the 7-8 boys event with a run of 15.79 seconds. In the 13-14 boys’ division Semaj Chatfield finished fifth at 12.94 seconds, and Ahmed Brown was sixth at 13.13.

4×100-Meter Relay

The Crisp County 11-12 year old boys’ relay team consisting of Marino Blanton, Harrison Dwight, Caden Daniels and Rickey Johnson finished as the state runners-up with a time of 52.90 seconds. In the 13-14 boys’ event, CCRD relay team made up of Mariek Thomas, Semaj Chatfield, Ishon Rozier, and Ahmed Brown took third in the state with a time of 51.02 seconds. The Crisp County 7-8 year-old girls’ relay team consisting of Valarie Torrence, Amir Putman, A’Khia Royal and Tamara Johnson finished in third-place in the state with a time of one minute 9.46 seconds. The CCRD team consisting of Jordan Woodall, Kelcey Rogers, D’Irayan Holly and Matthew Bedore took fourth place in the state in the boys’ 7-8 division with a run of one minute 7.63 seconds. In the 9-10 year old girls’ division, the CCRD team of Shinyla Allen, Shinese Jones, Roniah Lester and Zhriayah Jones finished fifth at one minute 3.87 seconds.
