CCHS track athlete signs with Truett McConnell

CORDELE- On Wednesday, Crisp County High School senior track and field athlete, Keishon Franklin, signed a scholarship to Truett McConnell University in Cleveland, Georgia to continue his track and field career in college.

Franklin competed at the GHSA AAA state track meet in Albany earlier this month and finished as the state runner-up in the 400-Meter finals with a time of 49.08 seconds. He ran a Crisp County best time in the 400-Meter qualifying heats with a time of 48.89 seconds. He also competed in the High Jump event at the state meet and finished eighth in the state with a jump of six feet.

Franklin qualified for state in the events by winning the region and section titles in the 400, and took a region title and sectional runner-up in the High Jump earlier this season.
